SSN name change

Hi Ladies,I need to change my name on my social security card. I know it has been asked a million times but can someone tell me how to do this. Do I have to go to the office and what should I bring if I do. TIA

marriage cert, license, & another form of ID like passport. Have the form filled out prior to going.

I brought the original, and it wasn't certified.

I just checked the website and it says it has to be original. I have a copy so I guess I will have to wait until Monday.

I brought a certified copy, application (you can get it on the website), and photo ID.  That's all I needed.  I went on a Monday the first time and it was PACKED.  The guy at the check in desk said come back mid - week.  I went on Wednesday and it was empty.  I was there for 5 minutes.  GL!

There are a few downtown...but I went to the one in Norristown. Excellent people watching.
