So, my Pre-Husband and I have been going back and forth wtih reception/ceremony theme ideas for the last 2 weeks. I've always wanted some sort of water/beach wedding - so the venues that are on our list all have a water feature of some sort. We had originally thought of a beachy/aqua themed ceremony with a Pirate themed Reception. we were looking at treasure chests and message in a bottle invitations and things were going great - and suddenly, while listening to the glorious tunes of Frank Sinatra (the Pre-Husbands favorite man!) he came up with a great idea to do an old school style wedding! He said we could find a way to keep the same Aqua/Teal color I'd already chosen, but include black and silver and do pin stripe suits and have an old school feel. Lounge singers wore mermaid style dresses, so he said that goes with my beach-y theme.
Here is my problem - I don't even know where to start searching for ideas!! And since he's FINALLY getting interseted in the planning, I want to come up with some ideas to take back to him so we can eventually sit down and confirm a final theme. We aren't getting married until August 2013, so we have some time! but I want to confirm a theme by next month so I can begin gathering things.
So - anyone have any great ideas for a simple/inexpensive wedding with a vintage/rat pack style wedding using black, silver, and teal?! ANY HELP is greatly appreciated!!!
