Anyone else having 2 receptions?

My FI and I are having 2 receptions. One in my hometown that is going to be more formal with 150 guest. The other in my FI's hometown, a week after the honeymoon, more casual(per his wishes) with about 120 guests.

Anyone else having 2 receptions?

Yup I did. Had a 30 person brief cocktail reception at DW. Had a 200ish AHR 2 weeks later (wore dress again and did some of the toasts and all of the dances) Had stations and a band.

We did.  We had only a dozen guests at our ceremony in Massachusetts, and took them out for a nice lunch in the private dining room of a restaurant afterward.  We then had an at-home reception back in DC, with food, open bar, live music, dancing, and a DIY fauxtobooth for about 60 guests.

I'm having two receptions but they're on the day of the wedding.
The first reception is formalish with dinner and the cake and no booze. and it's per invitation. We are on a budget and so we're unable to invite and feed a few hundred people. After the reception we're moving everything to my fiances mothers' bar and having an open reception where people can still come and see us and hang and drink but we have to worry less about money and more about fun. We'll see how it goes. but it was a much better option than that of not inviting everyone and also much better to have the booze at the later party. That way people aren't drunk at 4 in the afternoon and also anyone who doesn't want to be around it doesn't have to be. I'm pretty excited about it!
