Really? Place card holder help!!!

Hello,
I wasn't anticipating purchasing place card holders, as I was just going to buy the ones you print at home and fold on each plate setting...however, I do like these that I found online....But you only get 12 in a pack.  Does anyone know a cheaper option or company I can get some from without breaking the bank?  I can't justify 300+ dollars on place card holders, lol.

  • Maybe see if you can rig something up from clearance-rack Christmas ornaments.

  • Depending on the theme there is alot to be found in nature. We are thinking of using pinecones to hold ours. And they can be spray painted to match a color theme if needed. I have already purchased the print and folds and we are stamping the names onto them instead of printing. I know it's crazy of me but they are adroable. So we may alternate, one in a pinecone, one not, to create texture.

Most holders I have found online are expensive once you realize how many you will actually need. I have also seen some cute ideas using fruit. If it's a formal glitzy affair, I wouldn't know where to start. :) Good luck!
  • Hard to help. Need more info.
The pace card shold flow wth your table and how formal your recepion is.
You don't have to spend alot of money.
you could do 1 seating chart and then number the tables. (look at martha stewart.com) she has some nice seatig charts and ideas.
If your puting favors on the tables you may be able to use the cards you have with afavor as a stad of sorts
The plain seating cards that fold can be very elegant if you use an amazng font.
I did a wedding where we took silver craft wire and made stands that had a wedding circle base came up and held a crystal bead then had the folding place card it was very affordabld and beatiful.
It is always good to do some sample place settings at home.
    Hope this is helpful

  • I tried to find those for less, too, to no avail.  I decided to just do tent cards out of cardstock.  Much cheaper.  And recyclable.

  • I'm not sure what site you were looking on for these, so i'm not sure the piece per set, but i found this site that has the set of 12 for 18.95, so 1.58 a piece if you buy at least 4 sets.

Another idea for a similar look but not a sphere would be to get 2 silver magnets that would hold the card between them.  Something along the lines of these:

to make them more affordable, they would probably have to be smaller than the spheres.  Having a 10mm cube (so 2 10mm x 10mm x 5mm magnets) would be 1.06 a holder
