Photographer (I don't know a good word)

I was supposed to meet with my photographer tomorrow to look at our engagement pictures and saw on Facebook tonight that her mother passed away. I feel terrible for her and left her a message saying we can cancel our meeting and offered my condolences. I want to give her the time she needs because I know they were close. But how soon would you contact her about the pictures? I know eventually I'm going to get antsy. Would you wait for her to contact you? I really don't want to be insensitive.

I would give her a week or 2 to get everything in order and to grieve.  If she hasn't contacted you after 2 or 3 weeks, I would send a email just asking if she knew when you could get the pictures.  Do you need the pictures anytime soon to do something with them?

I agree with pp. I would give her at least two weeks.

I agree give her 2 weeks to mourn and then see if she sends you anything in response.  If she doesn't contact you just send her a quick email asking about the timeline of when she will have them ready.
