Color Help

I am wondering if I can get some honest opinions on colors because I am horrible at visualizing things.
We are getting married in July (2014) and our wedding has a slight travel them to it (so maps for seating plan, places we have been will be table names, old suitcases for decor, etc) and I was thinking of doing a mainly taupe/bronze color for the dresses, with a dark teal as the accent color.
As well I know that we prefer the table cloths not be white, so we would probably do those in the taupe as well. But now that I look at the picture Im wondering if that is too much "brown"

Are these colors wrong for a summer wedding?

Here is a picture of or venue using  white linen but teal bows . I have another picture using purple table cloth but its too large to post
  • I think those colors sound pretty and I think they are perfect for summer... it almost feels beachy.

  • I like it!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Thank you! LOL I had visions of everyone saying ewww. This wedding is going to be a challenge enough as its long distance (I live in Canada, hes British, and we are getting married there) so having something concrete to work off of feels like a huge relief - even bigger relief that he likes the colors!
  • I think if those are the colors you want, then there's nothing "wrong" about them at all!
  • There aren't really 'summer' and 'winter colors, etc. We are having a fall wedding and my mom was saying how we need to have dark colors for the season, but that is simply not true. We are doing sage and baby pink. I personally like to look of white linens wiht colored accents. I think the taupe ribbons around the chair, and maybe napkin, etc would look pretty, with different color accents for the decorations. You could always do floating votive cadnles for a neutral polished look. I hope this helps, and it seems lots of us ladies are giving you plenty of suggestions :)
