Ive been to a few where there wasnt a program, I didnt even notice till I got home really.

I'm not doing one.  They can be useful if you're having a long or complex ceremony and want your guests to be able to follow along.  Otherwise, meh.

They are good if you want to highlight people in the WP or certain aspects of the ceremony.. if not.. they aren't needed.

We did program fans since we had an outdoor wedding. They're definitely not necessary, but are a nice touch. I'm glad we did them, but wouldn't have missed them if we had scrapped them at the last minute.

Nope, for our ceremony I think its a waste of time, money, and energy...we're having a beach ceremony and I don't want them left around for someone else to clean up for them to blow away and cause more "trash".

i do not think they are necessary, i mean its a wedding people know how they go and what is involved.
