Buying own alcohol vs having it supplied

Hey guys,
The place we're looking at for our reception only supplies chairs and tables, so we have to bring in everything else- including the booze. Does this typically become more expensive, or will it all balance out in the end?

Bringing in the alcohol tends to be much cheaper.

wayyyy cheaper to bring in your own alcohol.  I'm doing this at my wedding too.  One suggestion I have is to buy from a place (like Costco) that accepts returns.  That way, you can buy a lot and make sure never to run out, but are able to return your extras if you have a lot left over!
