Am I missing something? Ideas wise...I just feel like I am

We dream of our weddings forever...now that I'm planning mine I get this sneaking suspicion that I'm missing something? I have nightmares about it

So my question is...is there something unique to keep my guests there that I can do?  I thought about a candy bar but idk that's overdone....help!

You don't need anything "unique" to keep your guests at a party -- good food, good music (if you're having dancing) and a bride and groom who are having fun and acting like good hosts will ensure people have a good time.

pretty much :) have you tried TK checklist here? no, its not perfect, but it has some pretty good ideas, and if the list items dont apply to you you can just delete them. it really is a good guide.

Honestly, there are too many people and too many weddings in this world for any of them to be truly unique. You will drive yourself crazy trying, so don't worry about it. Just enjoy this time and plan your wedding based on things that you and your FI like and enjoy.

If your wedding has good food, good drinks, a dj who knows how to read a crowd and help set the mood, AND a radiant bride and beaming groom who take time to interact with their guests, most people will not leave early.

But if your wedding doesn't have the above, a candy buffet or clever guest book isn't going to keep guests at the wedding.

I like the candy bar and too make it more fun you can have a cotton candy machine next to it. they have the old fashioned ones for rent at alot of party rental places. I am having a photobooth just like the ones in the mall for my reception and favors. They get the pictures instantly and on them we have our monogram and date.

this is very true! I don't think there is a way to have a reception truly "unique", since there have been SO many of them! Just find a way to add a touch of ya'lls personality into it.
You'll stress yourself out trying to please everyone and keep them there. If they want to stick around then they will, it's about a celebration of you and your partner and your new life together, people are there for you!
