suggestions for signing of wine bottles

Hello All:

Fi and i will be using wine bottles in lieu of a traditional guest book.  We plan to make a little sign that says we will open the bottles on anniversaries (1, 5, 10, etc).  We are big wine lovers so i would like to preserve the org label on the bottle.  has anyone ever used a sharpie (like white or silver)? will this work or do you have other suggestions?

Never done this so I don't have an answer for you but I think this is a really neat idea.

I'm sorry I'm not more of  a help, but i am doing this too and SO exicted about it!! I did hear though that you can't use sharpies. I think I heard you have to get a specail marker from Hobby Lobby or Michaels. From what I've read, sharpies tend to rub off of glass sometimes. Maybe google it? I will ask around and see if I can find out anything because I've been curious too
