Linens aren't a big thing on my list of priorities. We aren't having chair covers or anything like that. It's a semi casual reception at a local barn. Our "colors" are neurtrals with some pops of color in the accents in cool colors (antiqued turqouise dresser, green grass in the centerpieces). The centerpieces themselves will be fairly simple. We have large vases (think wide and thick, but about 6"-8" high I think). In the bottom we'll grow fescue and add in white fabric flowers in clusters (think baby's breath). There will be a bunch of candles around them and some will be covered in paper doilies.
Now... I've been thinking of light brown/beige tablecloths (they are round tables). I like the idea of runners, but they all seem so PIA to me and more expensive than I'd like. I ran across this idea and like it:
And I could do it for fairly cheap BUT the doilies would be paper. All of the plates, napkins and serving ware will be by the food as its a buffet. Do you think if I forego runners and add paper doilies at each place setting it would look cheap?
I'm trying to figure this out! It's my latest headache... =P
