Wedding ends at 3 pm

So my wedding ends at 3 pm on a Saturday. I was initially thinking of just going back to the hotel and having a party there with whoever wants to join but 3 pm is a little early to be partying it up so much. What are other people doing after their morning wedding? Maybe a dinner? I have no clue. Help please.

My sister and BIL went ahead and left for their honeymoon.  They couldn't get all the way there, so they flew to the city they needed to fly out of to their destination, and stayed there for the night (it was a short flight away), then onward the next morning.

Some people go home and open gifts, have dinner alone together or with their families, take some private time alone, or maybe have an afterparty later in the evening.

Do you mean the whole thing, reception included ends at 3? If so, and I was in that situation, the first thing I'd want to do is get out of my dress! I'd probably check into the hotel we were staying at the night, if you're staying in a hotel, and get into something more comfortable. I'd probably have a little bit of "down time" to relax. Then personally, I might get our WP members or just close family and friends together for dinner or something.

I don't think you have to entertain the rest of your guests. They will be aware it's a morning wedding and some, if they're from OOT, may plan to drive back right at 3. The rest who are in town will probably just go on with their day.

Thanks guys! I just didn't know if I should throw an extra party. But I like the idea or going back to the hotel for special time and change my clothes then having dinner with close fam and friends then having a few drinks after or something.

In the same boat, but ours will be ending around 7pm. We are going to go back to the hotel, so I can change. I'm thinking of getting a white cocktail dress. Then go out. I am going to let everyone know where we will be and whoever wants to come can come!

I would check with your VIPs before planning a dinner with them. I think it's a reallly long day to ask your WP to have. Presumably, you and the bridesmaids (if you have them) are waking up super early for getting ready. By 3 pm people might be exhausted and not want to go out to another event that same night. I'd suggest making an evening event optional if you plan one.

If you haven't done your photos, you could do that after everything is over.  And then I would go somewhere where you could change and then relax for a bit.  Afterwards, if you feel up to it, you could do a simple dinner or evening out with the people who haven't left yet.  Something low key is probably your best bet

My wedding ends at 6. We're having a little (optional) afterparty either at the hotel or a bar nearby. Not sure which yet because the bar isn't actually open yet.
