The Pros

I'm looking for additional feedback from brides that used The Pros. They do DJ, Video, and Photo for such a good price, I'm worried its too good to be true. I have seen reviews online, most are great but of course there are a few negative ones. They have been really helpful thus far so I'm leaning toward using them for our 2013 wedding but I just want to be sure!

So many (expensive) decisions!!

Re: The Pros

  • Don't do it!  It's a national one stop shop for weddings.  My student teacher used them for their wedding and their pics were so bad they had to do a reshoot of important photos with another photographer 6 months later.  His wife is still upset about it 2 years later.

  • For me, getting to know my DJ and photographer was very important.  These were 2 people that were key in making my reception flow smoothly.  I loved both of them and they were instrumental in making my wedding a success--I can't imagine having total strangers that didn't know anything about me or my husband.

[QUOTE]I didn't get much of a response when I posted on my local board and since they are a national chain I thought I'd try here as well. Hoboken- do you think that was the photographer they chose? It does make me nervous that they have such awful photographers working for them...

Where did my first post go?  Anyway they didn't get to choose their photographer.  That's problem #1.

  • I do get to choose the specific people that will be at my wedding online and they have profiles with sample photos and sample videos. We also do get to talk with them before hand and specify what we want from the photographer and videographer. We fill out a survey about what music we want and don't want and then talk with the DJ closer to our date and get into more specifics and what not.

I don't know...to me, that's not the same thing as meeting with actual people before you make that choice and then getting to know them through the process.  But if you feel that you can get the same thing with the Pros for less money, then go for it.  But I have found that you get what you pay for.
  • after talking with the FH, we decided NOT to go with the Pros. You guys are def right, it is too big of a deal to take the chance. We are going to go with the same photographer my sister and brother used for their weddings, even if it will cost us extra money. It will be worth it in 50 years when we have these awesome photos to look back on!

  • They hounded me with emails and phone calls so I just did a google search on them and didn't find ANY good reviews. They supposably hire local vendors to do the wedding, but you don't get to interview any of your vendors. How will you know if you click with your DJ and photographer?? I think that's pretty important. I found my own local vendors for about the same price as The Pros. I'd stay away!

  • I heard to stay away from The Pros, of course I heard that from DJs and photographers I was meeting with. However they put these packages together and they are pretty resonable but for a reason. They find these photographers off craigslist and other places and you don't know who they are sometimes till a week or two before hand. If music and photography are important to you then I wouldn't go this route.
