Desitnation Wedding - Jamaica - home reception ideas?

Hello fellow brides!

My fiancé and I are getting married in Jamaica in Nov 2013, and having a reception back home in VT in Jan 2014. I'm having trouble coming up with colors and themes...HELP! I have decided on coral and turquoise for my ceremony in Jamaica, but it will be winter back in Vt during the reception so I didn't think the colors would be appropriate. Any ideas on themes where I could keep the destination wedding as the focus during the middle of winter?

When you do this, there is no wedding dress, no ceremony, no bridal party, no first dance, no cutting the cake, etc. It needs to truely be a party, not a wedding reception. This is the choice you make for having a destination wedding.

I would still do the coral and turquoise. You don't have to do seasonal colors, so... I would think the AHR being a celebration of you recent wedding, you'd want to share what happened of the wedding. I think a Jamaican themed party would be a really fun way to share it.

I think that you can use the same colors.  Since you will be celebrating your Jamaican wedding, I would think the photos will show your colors and tie it all in together.  Just "theme" your AHR "Jamaican celebration" and have fun with it!
