So it seems like most limo companies rent limos for about three hours. That works fo the home to ceremony to reception part of the day, but how do we get from the reception to the hotel? Do we have to buy another three hour block? Any creative solutions?

have cars dropped off at the reception place ahead of time.  Arrange for peoplle to ride with DD's.  Call taxis.  Does  the hotel have a shuttle?  Sometimes they are willing to give rides if they're not busy...worked for my friends wedding. IMO i'd just rather drive myself though (if I'm not drinking).

Ditto, I'd rather drive myself.  But then, we didn't do a limo at all... NMS.

Some limo companies will send a Town Car to pick you up at the end of the night. Check to see if that's an option - if it costs extra,  it might cost the same as a taxi, but be WAY nicer.

Some hotels do provide a shuttle service for guests. The hotel we have our hotel block set up provides free service to and from the reception as long as it ends prior to 11 pm, since our ends after we are paying $100 to have guests shuttled back and forth.
