How to display a signature mat??

How do you display a signature mat (picture fram mat)??  I can't remember for the life of me how they do it at weddings normally.  I know we'll be putting a picture in it but how do you get it to stay? 

Just to give you an idea, it's like any picture frame mat. You have the cardboard mat that everyone signs, then you put your picture then you have a piece of paper behind it; but how does it all stay together?

It's sounds so simple but I'm confused lol

The way I've seen it is you just leave it just like normal, but take the glass out so guests can sign right onto the mat.  You can hang it or prop it up, or put it on an easel.  You put a picture of the two of you in it and then after the wedding, you can replace that picture with a wedding picture.

ok, so you put the mat in a frame without the glass? I didn't know if we put it in a frame or not. Thanks!

Yep, go ahead and put it in the frame you plan to keep it in and put a picture of you two in it as well.

This- and lightly tape a copy of the photo you guys want to put in there, or a photo of the two of you together, anything, into the center. But don't use the one you really want to use, in case people accidentally write on it.

Put it in a frame to make sure people don't sign the mat all the way to the edge because if they do, when it's in the frame you can't see the whole message.
