A Twin wedding!!!

I have a twin sister. We both have planned the wed day for 11/12/2010/. Our fiancés are cousins. None of us wants to move our dates. Therefore, we came to an agreement to make our wedding together. MAINLY BECOUSE ITS GONNA BE UNIQUE AND THERE ARE ONLY TWO FAMILIES INVOLVED.

The issue is the color. She wants a blue wedding and I want a green one. I want advice of any kind in incorporating two primary colors. Obviously, our two colors will not go together at the reception (decor) and the bridesmaids dresses (blue and green). Therefore, if any one has ideas of incorporating two primary colors of any kind please…advice…share ideas.

Re: A Twin wedding!!!

  • Those two colors are a great combination! You should Google "green blue wedding" and you'll be amazed at what you find. There will most definitely be a way to incorporate the two and make everyone happy. Good luck in your planning!

  • Thanks guys I`ll start googeling right away!!!
  • Look at the inspiration boards on this website: http://snippetandink.blogspot.com/

They have a search engine and some tags (by color) at the bottom of each board, to help speed up the search process.

  •  I uncounsciously gravitate toward things that are blue and green when shopping.  They definitely go together.  Just don't get set on using one exact shade each without consulting each other first to make sure you don't choose blues and greens that clash.
  • I fail to see how you can't use blue and green together ...

... you can't even make green without the color blue.

  • I don't see this happening.  You two are going to try to share a wedding and you can't even agree on color?

Besides, I wouldn't be locking in a color choice 3 years in advance if I were you.  I wouldn't be locking anything in except the groom that far in advance.
  • Blue and green totally go together-- as pp said, you can't even MAKE green without blue. Green is not a primary color, it's a secondary color.

Blue & green would be known as an analogous color scheme. They're very pleasing to the eye. It's also easy to do with flowers. There are plenty of beautiful blue flowers that are already accented with green leaves. Wink

You can't go wrong borrowing from Mother Nature.

  • I am having flash backs to an episode of "Who's Wedding Is It Anyways?"....Make sure that you are BOTH on board EVERYTHING that will be done....and agree with PP green and blue would look nice...

  • She didnt say 3 years in advance...she said less than 1...
and you have probly shared EVERYTHING in your life with your TWIN sister...this day should probably be about just YOU seperate..maybe a MONTH apart? Make sure you are 100% sure this is something you BOTH want to do...It's hard planning your own wedding let alone yours and someone elses...and having to agree on everything..i barely agree with myself on things!
as far as colors..I say...NAVY blue and olive green.
  • What you just said is so true. Having to imagine all of it makes me want to change my mind. It is a special day, meant for two people. Thanks for your input; it really brought me to realization.

From the beginning, I wanted my own wedding, but it was the people around me that brought me to this twin day thing, changing my mind in the process. (Sister, father and even my Fiancé)

I believe that it is better to follow your heart and first instinct.

Color is no longer an issue I’ve seen so many pictures of blue and green that are breathtaking.

  • Green is not a primary color, those are red blue and yellow. Green is between yellow and blue on the color wheel (yeah looks like high school art may have been good for something!) this makes it a perfect compliment and they should look beautiful together
