    This is our plan:

-"Cocktail Hour": About 35 minutes of tea and water service along with an appetizer table of cheese and crackers with crudites and dips.
    -Dinner
    -Cake cutting
    -Toasts
    -First dance
    -Open dancing

We're skipping the garter and bouquet toss because we don't have very many single people and we're doing all dancing after the dinner and cake cutting because FI has a very religious grandma who doesn't believe in alcohol or dancing so we want her to see the important things before she leaves shortly after dinner. You don't have to go by any set timeline, it can be adjusted to fit whatever your needs are, as you can see by all the different timelines that pp's have put. Good luck and congrats!!!
  • Thank you all very much! I am so excited about my April 30 day!!!
  • I would suggest doing your first dance as soon as you all enter the reception, for many reasons.  1) You have everyone's attention already.  2) It is like an "opening act" and gets the night going.  It doesn't mean dancing has to happen right away, but it gets the night rolling.  3) It's actually becoming more common, but still the traditional way is to wait until after dinner.
