So I met with my day of coordinator the other day and everything is all set...except the food for the cocktail hour.
Now, I love cheese but when we first me the caterer she said that a cheese and fruit display was germy and most people do not like them. well, the second meeting we had I expressed my love for cheese and how much we want it for the cocktail hour. Well, now we are getting a display. Well, if you can call it that.
My DOC told me they are going to have a small display on one of the bistro tables for our guests to pick at during the hour. When it looks picked at they will replace it. Really?! ONE small display (granted it will be replaced during the hour) on ONE small table for 100 people to heard themselves around?
I asked about a larger table and they told me it can look picked at. Really, I get that but I don't care.
So now I am thinking of just doing 3 or 4 passed hors d'oeuvers and scratching the whole cheese thing. My mother said to do this as well as she thinks a small display would look cheap and as if we do not want to cater to our guests.
The full dinner is filet and chicken so a nice hearty dinner is to follow.
