Our outdoor reception is going to be decorated mostly in neutrals with color coming in only in the flowers (persimmon/spice and pale peach). For most of the tables, we're doing white linens with natural burlap overlays. We're going to have a long head table, and I've got natural-fiber runners for that, but I can't decide if I want to put colored overlays underneath the runner (I'm thinking several small square overlays that would be overlapping, each with one corner hanging down over the edge of the table on each side, if that makes sense) or just leave the natural-colored runner on the plain white linens. I kind of feel like that would be too plain, but I also think simple is often better. The centerpiece will be a bunch of white candles in holders of different sizes and shapes in between the bouquets, if that helps. What do you think?
For those of you who would attack the idea of a head table generally - it will include the wedding party with their significant others, as well as both sets of parents, and people will be seated all the way around, so nobody will be separated from their date and nobody will be "on display."
