Hey y'all,
So, one of the things that really brings my fiance and I together is our love of unconventional games. It's a really huge part of Us, and something we share with a lot of our friends. However, I don't really know how to incorporate that into a theme at all! Our current theme is something completely different, that'll look really nice, but I don't feel like it expresses *us* very well.
As examples, we like Settlers of Catan (an unconventional board game,) Starfleet Battles (a Star Trek-based spaceship fighting game,) Axis & Allies (a Risk-esque World War II game), Battletech (a robot fighting game), as well as role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons and Exalted, and computer games like Diablo and Starcraft.
We don't want to have a Renn Faire kind of wedding, and we don't want too much that our older relatives will not understand or think is weird/tacky.
Our current idea for a theme, origami/paper in general, seems like it'll work out really well. Should I stick with that, or is there a way to incorporate our passion for non-mainstream games into the reception?
