Hi ladies!
So our reception is at my parents farm. But because of the number of people attending, the parking is actually at the house next to ours in her gigantic front yard. It's all cleared out (she hadn't mowed it in about 4 years) and it looks so much better now.
The problem is that it is a little TOO far to walk IMO from the parking area to the house. My mom doesn't want people cutting across our yard because she's afraid the ground is too soft there and wants people to come up the driveway. It'd be about a 6-7 minute walk along the road and then up and back along our driveway (it has a 90 degree turn). As a guest I wouldn't want to walk that far. I thought about getting a tractor and a wagon (our Lion's Club has several that even have roofs) but with the dang 90 degree angle there's no way it'd fit. We wouldn't even be able to get a party bus around that corner.
So I called a couple a golf cart rental companies and because it's a weekend I would have to pay for 2 days of renting the things....so about twice as much as I had allotted. I'd be looking at at least $700. We *could* do it, but it's frustrating that I have to pay for 2 days here!!
As much as I love the idea of doing a home wedding, it's extra costs like this that are driving me batty!
Do you have any suggestions or ideas for alternate transportation??
