replacing guest book?

We aren't having a HUGE wedding so a guest book is a waste. about 100 people.
What else could we use to look back and be like 'this is who was at our wedding?'

Re: replacing guest book?

  • I don't know what the feel of your wedding is, but I saw somewhere where people wrote/decorated stones instead of a guest book.
  • Thanks for you ideas!

I saw something in the store where it's a picture frame, with a white layer around it and people sign that.   Is that acceptable? or tacky?

I did see something else in a wedding magazine where it was 'wishing cards' where people wrote you a message on the card and it came with a box.
Or something similar to that, but with a vase instead of the box.

    I don't know.
  • We're doing a wishing tree where you decorate branches in a vase or something of the sort and people write a message or piece of advice on a hang tag. You then hang them up like leaves on a tree. At the end you can keep all the tags together with a clasp like a mini guest book. If you google wishing tree there are tons of pics.

  • We are using postcards which we will frame after the wedding, some with the message side showing & others with the picture side. We also plan to change it up every year or so and swap the side which shows.
  • We are using a small wooden chest which I painted in my wedding colors and decorated the top with our monogram.  I bought ultra fine sharpies (in wedding colors of course lol) and I will have the guests sign the sides of the chest.  After the wedding I will spray the chest with a clear coat to seal in the signatures and then use the chest as a wedding keepsake box to store one of our invites, favor, FI bout, my headpiece, etc...really anything that will remind me of our day.

I like that. It's cute.  I was thinking of just using the card box to store all the stuff we want to save.
