Ok, so my Fi and I going to be having a cake and punch reception in the basement of our church. We were planning on setting up about 20 of the long rectangular tables that are available, but I'm almost feel like this would be a waste of limited space, since we're not serving a dinner, and I don't know how much people would want, or need, to be sitting down at a table. A friend was telling me about how another couple had had a recption in the same room with a few small tables and a bunch of chairs scattered around. Thing is, we'd have to rent the smaller tables if we wanted to do this, which is right at the bottom of the priority list right now.
I guess what I'm really wondering what you all think about not having table space for every single person, and having a bunch of chairs rather than a table, when we're only having light hor d'oeuvres and cupcakes to eat.
