Re: Specialty Drinks

  • For new, I'd have a Hurricane since those are big in New Orleans.

    Also, Hurricanes are yummy.

  • "Old drinks": Boxcar, Sloe (yes it's spelled that way) Gin Fizz, Manhattan (Brandy Manhattans are great), White Russian, Rusty Nail.

For a new drink, I'd work with the bartender to find something that fits your color or reception theme.

    Good luck.
  • That is a really neat idea!!!!  For the something old, definitely go with a classic.  Gin martini, rum and coke, scotch on the rocks.  For the something new, maybe do a cosmopolitan or an appletini!  Something "young and hip"

  • For the Old - what is your Grandfather's favorite drink?  or what about an aged wine that is your favorite?

  • For old- Rob Roy, Tom Collins, Manhattan..

New Drink- Pomtini, Key Lime Pie, Paris-tini, PAMA-Coco
  • For the old, just do an "old fashioned."  It's an actual drink, and it's usually cited as being the first ever cocktail.  It's usually made with bourbon (or gin or whiskey), some bitters, soda water, sugar and ice.  Great idea for specialty drinks, by the way!
  • what an awesome idea! we were thinking of doing a few signature drinks instead of a full bar, and i might just have to steal that idea from you! and blue is one of our colors so we were going to have a blue drink anyway :)

martinis are definitely in right now and there are so many different kinds that i think it would be fun to come-up with your own (or just choose your favorite of the new martinis that are out there) and make that your "new".

all of the "old" suggestions would work really well, especially an Old Fashioned, since old is already in the name! GL!
  • I would do redbull and vodka for the "new" seems like that is the newest popular drink

for old i'd say old fashioned or gin & tonic
  • for something new, anything with st. germain liquer - it's delicious, and great with something sparkly, live a cava
  • THis idea is amazing! so cute these are the drinks I would do.

sazeric, it's a very classic drink ,and I've never served it to anyone under 50 unless they were VERY cosmopolotin

new - mojita very hot drink of the 2000's

blue berry margarita or blue hawaii

chai martini the flavors are borrowed from exotic culturs.
