The Exit

My fiance and I are getting married and having our reception in a hotel near our home. We will be spending the night at the hotel as well. My question is, how do we plan an exit when we're staying in the same place?

Re: The Exit

  • We didn't do an "exit" we just left when the reception was over and we were done saying goodbye to our guests. I've actually never seen an "exit" before at any of the wedding I've ever been to. Usually the bride a groom stay behind saying their thank you's and goodbye's until everyone has left.
  • We didn't have an exit.  I became really motion sick after the Horah, so we left an hour before the reception was over.   We walked through the room and said goodbye to everyone who was still there and then just left the room.  No DJ announcement or anything.

  • I've never seen an exit from a reception either.  At both of my children's weddings, they stayed until the very end, and then went to the after parties with their friends.

I don't think one is really necessary at all.  Think of it this way:  one less thing to worry about.  And then you get to stay and enjoy the entire party.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • I dont think you HAVE to have one but if you are on a strick time limit and have to be out by a certain time its a good way to kick everyone out ha! Not to say that you have to leave early just leave at the end and everyone will follow shortly behind. I also like it for a photo op. I like stephies idea....line up to the elevator, its cute!
