Fire Truck Wedding Transportation

My fiance' is a firefighter for Los Angeles City Fire Dept. I think it would be a cute touch if we could use a firetruck for both transportation and great photo opportunities. Our wedding and reception will take place a little too far away from the area that his fire dept. serves to utilize one of their trucks. Anyone know where I can rent a fire truck in the Southern California area, specifically in Ventura County?

  • Try posting this on a local SoCal area board.  (Look to your left for local wedding boards).  This board is international.  I'm in NJ and wouldn't be at all able to help with a specific questions like this.  GL
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

not sure if any fire department would even be willing to "rent out" a firetruck, considering the fact that they might need it to go out on a call....worth checking into though

This is what I was thinking.  Maybe a vintage truck that's out of service would be available through a transportation rental company or even a town historical society/center?

  • I would imagine that like all other vehicle involved professions that there are spares somewhere, I'm not sure how fire departments work but it will probably require hiring an off duty driver or something of that sort, like hiring an off duty deputy for certain things. I would say your best bet would be to call the local fire department of the area you are going to ad ask them. Also check into county auctions, when they sell the old ones, try to contact a buyer. And you never know what you can find on craig's list.
  • Did you ever find a truck? My daughter's fiance is a firfighter and we had the same idea you did. would be so fun. Havent had luck so far and wondered if you had. Thanks,Sherie
