Photo slideshow

Our reception venue has a huge tv over the bar so we are going to have a photo slideshow playing on it during the reception. I was going to put mainly photos of FI and I but also wanted to throw in a few baby photos or old family photos. The problem is that there are no baby photos or old family photos of FI. I've asked his mom numerous times if she could find some but she doesn't seem to want to be bothered with it. So do I nix the baby and family photos? Would it be okay to put my old photos and not his? Should we just do pictures of us?

I think it would look odd if it had your younger photos and not his.

Is this just going to play in the background or are you going to stop the reception to show it?  If it's the former, just put the pictures in that you have.  If it's the latter, I'd change it to the former.

It's just going to play in the background. I figure people can look at it while waiting in the bar line.

If you do this at all, I'd skip the baby photos and just have it run in the background.  Don't stop the reception for it.  I'm not a fan.

Actually, another option is to see if your DJ or photographer offers a slideshow from pictures made from the wedding itself.

I had never heard of this until my DJ offered it.  It was awesome!!!  His assistant took pictures during the ceremony itself, and of the guests prior to the ceremony, and made a slideshow.  It was then put on the projector screen at the reception.  Everyone loved it, and it wasn't terribly AWish because the pictures weren't only of us.

Are you doing it yourself? If so, start working on it..and show it to them as a rough cut...That might inspire her to give you more pics once she sees it ...(I say this from experience and it works like a charm)
