Flip Flop Bucket

Morning Ladies-

I am putting together a flip flop bucket for my reception....I am ordering a bunch of different colors from Old Navy and want to make sure I have the right sizes...I have pretty small feet, so I think everyone does...but I don't want to over look...to simplify I am only ordering in full sizes...not half sizes because lets be honest....does a half size too big really matter when you are dancing in flip flops...

Can you girls let me know if you think I am missing anything..should I go bigger or smaller in any colors??

As always thanks!!

I have to be honest, I think the whole buying flip flops for other people (be it bridesmaids or guests) is one of the top dumbest money wastes in all of wedingdom.

First of all it's hard to dance in flip flops, seriously others end up stepping on them and they can be really slippery.  Second, I find it really insulting.  You are saying to your guests, since I know you weren't bright enough to wear appropriate shoes I bought you these cheap shoes that you are likely to trip in.  Third, they al ugly.  Most wedding guests will dress up and then you tell them "I want you to wear the most casual shoes ever invented.  Now you'll look all weirdly mismatched."

I just wouldn't worry about it.  Spend the money on something else.
  • Is this just women's sizes?  Because if not, and you're planning on having any men at your reception, you're going to have some problems here.
  • They are just women sizes because I am not sure how many men will come in heals that aren't fun to dance in. :)  And lets be honest...mens feet smell :)  I am just kidding  i hadn't really thought of men because they typically leave their shoes on at weddings and it is always the women that go in barefeet which grosses me out hence my desire to spend the extra money on this.  And if I have extras I will donate them to a shelter.

  • I think having a flip flop basket is fine.  I would also only worry about the women because out of the crap-load of weddings I have been to not one man has taken off their shoes to put on flip flops.

  • I have been to weddings with flip flops provided and no one took them.  You may be better off providing socks--then you don't have to worry about sizes.
  • I'm completely 100 with you on the bare foot thing. I think it is absolutely digusting and I have seen too many gorgeous wedding photos ruined by black feet on the dance floor. My 1 bridezilla request is NO BARE FEET! Have some class and bring a change of shoes if you decide not to wear comfortable enough shoes to dance in the whole night. Anyway, I think your selection looks good.. I think the average womens size shoe is a 7 or 8 so that may be the size you get the most of. But remember, they're only flip flops so even if they end up wearing a pair that are a size too big or a size too small, it wouldn't be all that terrible.
  • If you are buying from Old Navy I would not buy any 6's unless you have very petite guests coming. I usually wear a 5 1/2 or 6 in shoes but a 7 in Old Navy flip flops. We ordered most 8's and 9's because they seemed like the most average sizes.
  • Wow you are really mean. All the things you said are completely untrue. She is attempting to look out for her guests.
