Does anyone have any ideas on how I might incorporate both a dj and a live singer/guitar player into my reception? My bff has offered to play a few songs for the reception and I would love to take her up on it, but I can't figure out logistics of where to mix it in. She does not want to do ceremony music (not her style). It's not quite what we have in mind for our first dance (though we could try to be flexible there), and cocktail hour doesn't make sense because that will be more quiet music, so would it be weird to break into live music after the first dances are done, and then go back to a dj after she's done her songs? Wait until the end of the reception and cut the dj off early? Do the live music as a prelude to the first dance, THEN the first dance, and dj?
Her music is danceable, and she would probably do a slow song and a couple fast songs.
Suggestions greatly appreciated! At this point I think she'd be hurt if we have to turn her down. Thanks!!!!
