Dressing the Out of Town Bridal Party

Hi,

My wedding is a year and a half off, but I'm already starting to plan out some of the logistics.  A few of my closest friends moved out of state, but I *really* want them in my wedding party.  I will have bridesmen and bridesmaids.

My question is:  How do I get the guys fitted for their suit/tux or the lady for her dress?  Obviously, it's unreasonable of me to ask them to leave work and fly all the way over here just for fittings, but I want these things to be done well in advance of the wedding too. I also know that it would be unreasonable to ask them to take off work a few days early to get fitted here *right* before the wedding (mistakes on wardrobe aren't exactly fixable within a 24-hour period by most shops).

For the suit/tux: I could send them to their local tailor and them have them tell me their measurements to tell the shop here.  I could also just tell them to wear the best black suit they have and hope to goodness they don't all clash.  I could also make sure I'm buying through a national chain (i.e. David's Bridal) and just make sure that communication is constant and clear through both locations of the shop (so as to make sure no one "forgets" or messes something up because of miscommunication).

For the dress: I'm not extremely concerned as long as the skirt style/length, color, and fabric are matching (the tops will likely be different in style due to varying body types of the bridesmaids).  Most women have an understanding of that sort of thing (with all due respect to men).

Help?  Cool

EDIT: Thanks, ladies.  I appreciate the replies.  Now, the trouble is that two of them live WAY northwest - north California and south Oregon and there's not a DB or MW anywhere close to either of them.  Where are some other stores I could look at?
