reception bands

I am hoping to get a band for my reception that plays both classical dance music (for example: waltz, tango) and also more popular fast dance music from the 50's through the 80's.  Anyone else had success arranging something with this kind of span?  I live in CHicago, so there are lots of musicians...

(my mother will not hear of a DJ and "canned music.")

    If you want suggestions for specific bands, post this on a local Chicago area board.  This board is international and we can't help with specifics like this.  I'm in NJ and really don't know anything about Chicago.

    Since you're a newbie, look to your left.  Use the drop down to local wedding boards.  Find the like to Chicago area.  Post your question there.  Good Luck.
