Father/Daughter Dance Song - Nothing Too Sappy

Hi!  I am having trouble picking out a father/daughter dance song that isn't too sappy.  We would like something that is in the classic rock/singer song writer area.  He likes "Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison, but I haven't seen this used as a father/daughter dance song.

Do you think that is appropriate?  Also, do you have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance!

  • I don't know that song you mentioned above....but my father and I danced to "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder.

  • We haven't picked our song yet but we don't want a too sappy of a song either. I haven't ask my dad yet, but someone on one of these boards mentioned "what a wonderful world"  by Louie Armstrong and i thought it was a good one.

  • Sage, I danced to that song with my Stepfather.  For me it was sappy, but he's VERY sick with cancer right now so I just cried through the whole thing (as he sang to me in my ear, talk about tear jerker)!

But yes, that's another great suggestion, and a beautiful song!
