Old church basement for reception

I am having a country wedding and using there basement as my cake and dessert reception. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this more elegant and party favor ideas? I guess you could say I am trying to have a champagne reception on a beer budget lol/

I'd first start by asking the church for suggestions, based on other receptions they held. Drapery can look nice if there's a place to hang it from. Lighting and color of lights help. Fabruic chair covers and full length table linens for the food tables. Ask your florist for ideas.

Ditto PP. Lighting and linens can transform a room majorly. Try for some pretty uplighting in the colors of your wedding. Also, try and use table cloths and chair covers w/ sashes (all of which can be rented or bought and re-sold). These minor details can make a room look completely different.
