Centerpieces

So I easily made all of the big decisions, yet for the life of me I can not make decisions on little details that no one other than me will remember...like centerpieces.  I had an idea originally but don't really love my idea anymore so I am looking for suggestions...here is a little info.  on our reception:

It is a formal evening reception in October, our color scheme is red, black and ivory...possibly some silver accents in decor.
Our tables are round and will seat 8-10 for a plated dinner.
We already purchased square mirrors to incorprate into the centerpieces before I changed my mind....so bonus points if you can incorporate those into your suggestion!

Sorry this is so vague, but I really have no idea what I want and inspiration pictures on here haven't done much for me so far either.

Re: Centerpieces

  • you could get vases and fill them out with water and either fruit or flowers .... u can also include candles or little rocks, that would look cute, its kinda what I want to do.

  • I don't know what you had in mind previously, so I don't know what NOT to suggest.  Personally, I love candles.  I love the soft romantic ambiance that they create. Candles also tend to be fairly inexpensive which is nice.  I would head to Crafts 2000 in Monroe or the LIbbey Glass outlet in downtown Toledo and pick out some glassware that is interesting to you, and go from there.  You can submerge a flower and put a floating candle on top.  You can put some of the glass rocks (do they have another name?) in the bottom of your glass container around a candle.  Any idea like this would look really nice on top of the mirrors that you have already purchased.

  • I love the submerged flower idea!  That is actually a similar idea to what I was thinking originally.
My original idea was to use a bowl on a mirror like SkettiHeadie posted in the first pic, with the beads on the bottom and floating rose petals and candles...then petals scattered around the mirror and for some reason I was doubting it.

I think the submerged flower with larger candle on top in some kind of different type of glass is a nicer option though.  Thanks for the inspiration photos, they helped a ton :)

HAHA absolutely not :)  Although while looking through theknot centerpiece photos I did stumble across a wedding where that was done.
