Rectangular tables vs. Circular tables!!!!!

Hey ladies!!! so what do you guys think? my reception place is kind of small im trying to fit everyone in the room. Which of the tables takes more people and less space so we can have room for a dance floor. I think the rectangular tables will not take that much space but will take alot of people!!! I want to see what everyone else thinks!!!

I prefer round tables.  you can sit 8 people at a good sized round table and they are much easier to walk around.

  • im doing a mix because just one or the other didnt allow me to seat guests the way i wanted.  i say go with a floor plan and seating options that works best for your event.  dont be afraid to think outside the box, not everything has to be monochromatic.
  • round tables. we have rectangles at our wedding and it is harder to find stuff for them.
  • I like round.  My experience with rectangles is that they are close together and they squeeze a lot of people in so if you are sitting in the middle you are trapped.  You need to have other people get up so you can.

  • I prefer rounds, but it really depends on the size and layout of your room. I'd discuss it with the venue to see which way fits better and what your choices are. They work with the room all the time so they'll know what works best at your particular site.
  • According to several tent companies I've talked to, circular tables take up more room than rectangular to seat the same number of guests.
  • We had a small venue too (too small in hindsight because it really limited the guest list) and it came with rectangular tables.  I went with low square vases for the centerpieces.  I like the low centerpieces anyway, so square seemed better than round.  We had a runner down the middle with votives and glass beads.  Someone loaned me the votives and they were square!  So it all worked out together and I do think it fit more people with rectangular tables.  However, it was just pretty crowded.
