asking someone...

I am getting married in the back yard of my FIL's house. They have a stone porch and is beautiful. There is going to be just over 50 people there so since the ceremony and reception is there I've been thinking about the transition after the ceremony and food. Do you think it would be best to have someone extra be there just to set everything out, or do you think since it is all close family, that just everyone will help out if they see me and FI getting things out.

Re: asking someone...

  • I would definately have some extra help, you dont want to be carrying out food or moving ceremony/reception stuff around and risk spilling something on yourself. Plus you really wont want to be worrying about setting stuff up when you can be visiting with your family and friends.
  • I agree. Ask a close friend or family member to stay inside during the ceremony and get everything ready. You want everything to come off perfectly and don't want to have to interupt your day worrying about whether or not the fruit tray made it to the table. To be perfectly honest, I would always rather help out a friend by doing something to make her day more perfect than to actually see the ceremony.

No no no no no! Why on earth would you ask a friend or family member to miss the important special part? Hire someone for this! And if you are worried about $, I am sure you can find something on Craigslist and will find someone for about $100. Maybe a college student, someone looking for extra work, etc.
