Colors help!

Hi guys! I need some help figuring out whether this would work or not. This is where I'm getting married: http://bit.ly/LAn1of and I'm trying to fine-tune my color scheme. The bridesmaids are wearing a deep midnight blue, and their flowers are primarily white with some gray and dark berry accents. They'll also be wearing gray flats. Focusing on the tables, we're having a lantern centerpiece (http://bit.ly/PmMfXr) accompanied with four different short vases of white flowers, and nine votives per table on possibly ivory tablecloths. I'm also thinking of a walnut brown color for our chiavari chairs.

My problem is, I'd like to include a gold accent on the table (perhaps a gold lined charger plate or something) but then thats introducing a whole other color to this palette. Is that too much? Aside from the bridesmaids I'd like for everything to be neutral and white tones to look organic to the space, but I guess I'm worried its a faux pas to go from gray to gold. What do you guys think? Sorry if thats all confusing!

  • I love your reception space.  I think with the lighting you will be fine to have gold chargers.  And I am not sure if you have already purchased your lanterns, but another way to add a touch of gold would be to have antique gold colored lanterns.  That way you are bringing in the gold color to your overal scheme but it isn't screaming "LOOK AT ME I AM GOLD!!"  But if you have already purchased your lanters just stick with the chargers.

I like the gold chargers idea but I would think you should put accents in at least 1 other spot so it looks like it was intentional.  Like the PP said w the lantern or even a ribbon of some sort.  The room's lighting is beautiful with the gold so I think it would all flow nicely together :)
  • How about silver chargers instead of gold?

<div>Initially I thought about that, but to be honest I feel like gold works better with the natural colors of the venue, if that makes sense. The silver/gray color I introduced because it works great with the bridesmaids dresses but I always felt inclined to go gold with other accents on the tables because it seems more organic to the space. I was just worried that it may be too much!</div>
  • They also make clear chargers with gold beads around the edges.  Maybe that wold be a nice compromise.
