Father Daughter Dance

Hi All! I just recently got engaged and we just started the planning. One of the most important moments of our wedding will be our father daughter dance. My Dad means a lot to me, and I would like it to be special. I really like the idea of the song, "Father and Daughter" by Paul Simon, but I feel that it's a little fast. Has anyone been able to find a slower, more acoustic version of this song? Also, is it a better idea to let the father pick the song as a surprise to the bride?

I love that song!  Unfortunately, my dad doesn't like the song, so we're dancing to "My Girl"

I was actually thinking the same thing.  I love that song as well, and the other day my dad told me that would be his choice of song but he thought we would look stupid trying to dance to it.  I have found a few different versions of it on YouTube.  My DJ mentioned that they thought there was more than one version, so I guess it is just a hunt to find it.

My dad and I are having the same issue! It's definitely the song we want, but, it's too upbeat.  I've been searching for an acoustic version, but have not had any luck yet.  After the holidays, I'm going to ask my DJ, so I will let you know if I find out!  Good luck!

go to youtube and look up the song " I loved Her First" by Heartland- it is a country song and what I am dancing to at my June wedding. Two other good songs are Unforgettable by Natalie/Nat King Cole, and Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle Hope that helps!
