Hi ladies. I'm cross posting incase anyone here may have some knowledge but doesn't frequent the Connecticut board. Hope you don't mind too much.
I'm hoping you can offer some ideas for reception locations. The general idea, theme if you want to call it that is "Old New England Country Elegant" We're looking at next fall/winter (September 2013 - February 2014) in Southwestern CT.
I like the idea of an historic estate/country house/barn. Most of these have been site only venues. For planning purposes I'd prefer a full service venue. And on the inverse most full service venues lack the charm we're hoping for.
Our budget is in keeping with the average wedding.
Other things we'd like to have; beautiful grounds, decor with character, and a menu that is creative and unique. A water view is a huge plus.
I know it's a tall order but anything close is appreciated. We are able & willing to be flexible with some points if others are that great.
