On our first date, my fiance bought me a penny passport at the baltimore aquarium and playfully picked on me for collecting them (and has ever since). I was thinking it would be really cute to have a custom penny press machine at our reception (in lieu of a photo booth) which would also serve as favors. Does anybody know of any place to rent such a machine? I haven't been able to find anything anywhere!

I don't know where to rent these... but just curious, what do you expect people to do with a pressed penny after your wedding?
Websites/blogs where our wedding has been featured:

I am not interested in anybody's opinion on the meaningfulness or otherwise of my idea. It is meaningful and personal to us. If you think about it, what is anybody going to do with a stupid favor except feel guilty about throwing them away. At least a penny doesnt take up much space. I only was asking whether or not anybody knew of a place to rent the machines. If you do not know of one, please keep your negative comments to yourself.
[QUOTE]I think this is a really cool idea, because I also collect smashed pennies. I have a couple of books full from vacations. PPs are right, though, that this could be very costly, and not everyone would cherish this favor as much as people who collect these pennies. Personally, I would rather have this than another can coozie or bag of candy, but I know not everyone feels the same way. This is a website I found on a Google search. Hopefully it helps! http://www.pressedpennies.com/pressed-pennies/pressed-pennies-custom.htm

thanks! this actually is helpful! Thank you also for understanding that is a personal idea and that I am just trying to research my options.
[QUOTE]So you are choosing your thank you gifts aka favors according to what you like instead of thinking about what your guests would like? Good luck with that bridezilla.

I don't see anything wrong with planning our wedding around who we are as a couple. Don't most brides choose colors they like? Food? Etc? I think that a penny passport complete with the first penny is a cute favor for families like ours who like to travel, or will have lots of kids present.
Kudos to you thinking outside the box
[QUOTE]I'm right there with you OP! My fiance and I collect those everywhere we go and had also thought this would be cute to have one at our wedding too, so you are not alone. And thanks to the PP who had info on it cause we thought this was impossible to find. If people don't like it they don't need to make one! Depending on cost (I haven't looked yet) we don't know if we will do it, buts its cool to know its an option.
