We have not yet booked a venue, but even since before we got engaged, we had a place in mind. It's not an actual reception venue persay. Last summer, I went to this huge "bash" at this place, and it was PERFECT! It's a huge open...field...pretty much, but they had put up a stage, two tents (one for seating and one for food), and there was LOTS of room for mingling outside the tent AND parking! Even better, it's right down the street from our house AND the churches that we want to get married at! Problem is that the party was that of the owner's of the property. My FBIL used to work for this guy (hense the reason I was taken to the party in the first place), so he said that he would go with us to talk to the guy that owns it.
I'm pretty sure that the guy that owns it will say no for liability reasons. MOH (FBIL's wife) suggested that we go in with the idea that he will say no, and maybe have some plans drawn up, i.e. papers that take liability off of him, etc.
Do you have any ideas that, if he was going to say no, might help to sway him in the more positive direction? No ideas are bad ideas so just throw them out there!!
