My 3 teenage sons are walking me down the aisle......

My question is, at the reception, when their is normally a father daughter dance, should I dance with my sons and what song would be appropriate?

  • You certainly don't have to. Personally, I would skip the dance, but if you want to do it then do it. Which son would you dance with? All three?
  • My friend who got married last summer father was not part of her life, so instaed of the traditional father son dance, she did a family dance, as she had 4 brothers. She danced with each of them for part of the song, starting with the oldest, and the next oldest cutting in, until finally she ended with her Mom. It was very sweet. You could do something like this only with your sons? Dancing with each of them for part of the same song.
  • Oops, meant instead of the traditional father DAUGHTER dance, not son. :) And I meant starting with the youngest and the next oldest cutting in.

    wow, I cannot type today!
  • I like the idea of dacing with your sons.  I second having them cut in on each other for parts of the same song.  I would not want to watch (as a guest) three dances.
  • I love this idea!  As for songs I don't have any ideas but I bet you can google it and get some good ones!

  • I am also having my 3 sons walking me down the aisle. For the father/daughter song they will be dancing with me. It is their idea since my father is no longer alive, he past 2007 and knew of my upcoming wedding. The song they have choosen is "Dance with my father" by Luther Vandross. Each one will take a turn, not sure how they have it worked out but at the end all of us will finish the dance together in respect for my father, whom they were very close to.
    I hope this has helped.
