  • Omg! I came onto this forum for some ideas. Instead, I'm saddened by so many critical overly opinionated bridzillas. Whether the mother helps her daughter, it's only the business of her daughter. It isn't the business of a spiteful bridzillas who isn't related to her.

We haven't talked with anyone yet about baking the cakes. By everyones input I think we should definitely go with all the cakes decorated the same. She has been looking at pic online to decide how she wants it decorated. We were waiting on her to make a decision about that befor we talk with anyone.

You shouldn't have cakes by two different bakers, especially it's a difference of a grocery store and a pro baker. The difference in taste/quality will be noticeable, even if they're decorated the same--and you can't be entirely sure that they WILL look the same unless you have the baker decorate the other cakes, and I can't think of too many bakers who would say yes to doing that.
  • Hello to all just wanted to update everyone on how it went. I had trouble finding someone that would bake a red velvet cake but finally found a family friend that baked a three tier red velvet cake for me. The grooms aunt as a wedding present baked 4 other flavor cakes to go along with the actual wedding cake. The aunt also decorated the wedding cake for us. It was not decorated exactly as my daughter had wanted but in the end she was fine with it. They were all different with 3 tree trunk stands that the groom cut the wood for himself. All the cakes tasted amazing. One was no higher quality than the other and everyone could choose the flavor they wanted.

Here are pics of the wedding cake table:
