Hi there! We are having a reception with cocktails and heavy, meal-like appetizers that starts at 7 pm. I'm trying to figure out what order to do things in, and I'm stumped. The guests will arrive at 7 and there will be drinks and lighter apps (cheese tray, fruit, veggies). We are going to enter at 7:30 and do the first dance(s) and then the the heavier appetizers will come out at 8. I can't decide when to do the toasts and cake-cutting-- should it be directly after the first dance or later? Since it's not a seated reception and everyone will be milling around and dancing, and I don't know whether we should get those things out of the way all at one time, or if we should wait until after the heavy apps are put out and people get a chance to eat. Any suggestions are welcome!
