Anyone getting married in England?

Hi everyone, this is my first post on the Destination Weddings board. I was wondering if anyone out there is planning a wedding in England?

I'm not really having a DW per se, as my FI and I live in England (and have for the past 4 years), but we are from Canada and America, so our immediate families will be travelling. Also, I feel like I don't have a 'local board', so I thought I'd see what it's like here!

Re: Anyone getting married in England?

  • Congratulations!!  I am no help for England since I will be married in Jamaica but I just wanted to say welcome to the board! :-)

  • Thanks Julyet. I figured it might be a long shot. Jamaica sounds amazing-- good luck with your planning!
  • Hi!!  I am not getting married in Europe either.  Right now, I am not sure if there are any regulars that are Europe brides.  You should still stick around because the ladies here are AMAZING.  We may not be able to answer location questions, but we can answer just about anything else.  :)

  • Yes, please do stick around!  We discuss everything here :-D  Good Luck to you as well!!

  • Welcome!! I've never been to Europe and I'm not getting married there, but I want to go to England so bad! It looks so nice! Our goal is to travel a lot next year before we start a family and England/Europe is on the list!!

I agree, stick around. Everyone here is friendly and nice and I'd love to hear about your planning!
  • Thanks everyone, I'll definitely be sticking around. I might be posting at odd hours due to the time difference, haha, but it's good to know I'm welcome! Smile I'm still in the early stages of planning but it's nice to know there are people I can share with; and I certainly will.

harr, hopefully you'll be able to travel to England; I'm in Yorkshire, about 2 hours north of London, and I'd definitely recommending travelling up here-- there's so much more to England than London and the south!
