We traveled to Beaches Negril February 2th - 7th 2012 for our wedding. Then stayed another few days at Sandals Negril, we believed Beaches was a nicer resort all in all than Sandals from the beach to the foo, although it was nice to get to the all adults resort. Both resorts came highly recommended to me by our travel agent Nancy Finn of Island getaways (http://www.myislandgetaways.com) She stressed Beaches and Sandals family of resorts spend a lot of time ensuring all aspects of weddings and honeymoons are taken care of and offering many different options to personalize your wedding day. We had a total of 28 guests for our wedding ceremony. Much larger group than we had expected, some guest stayed at Beaches Negril but most stayed at Beaches Sandy Bay (less expensive, smaller resort). Both resorts were open to the guest from either resort and free shuttle runs about every 30min for a quick 2 min ride between the two. Some guest were making the walk between the resorts and said if you were looking to buy any suvoniers be ready to be asked over and over again, but always respected when they said no thank you. We loved the the layout and the options we had.
We chose the included Beautiful beginnings theme for the wedding and just added the items we were most interested in, believe this saved us some money as we did not do a traditional sit down dinner and reception. Chloe in Miami was great, quick with all e-mail responses and Theshana at the resort went above and beyond to take care of every little detail, and hold those umbrellas high for me
what wonderful people! Our Ceremony was on the beach at 3:00 from there we headed to the 30 min. cocktail reception on the beach (included due to the number of guests we had) with some nice appetizers then it was off to our reception which we had booked the private catamaran. The Catamaran was the best idea we had in all of our wedding planning, it was a once and a lifetime opportunity for not only us but for all of our guests as well. We were very happy with our choice of the upgraded menu which included items like : Crab claws, Smoked salmon bruschetta, Lobster and Conch fritters and vegetable spring rolls AND the boat had a full bar and bartender (and bathrooms too of course). The staff on the boat was so much fun and got all guest up on their feet and dancing and having a good time. We were even able to cut and serve our cake while on the Catamaran. It was the best wedding I could have dreamed for with not a moment of stress, and for that i must again thank Theshana, simply the best wedding planner ever!!! I would also like to thank Sanet in the Salon, taking such good care of me the two days prior to the Wedding, if you get the chance be sure to check out the RedLane spa for a treatment! Nicola for taking some of the most beautiful pictures, even in the rain
, she was very easy to work with and ensured she got a wide variety of perfect memories. And last but not least Avia for serving and setting up the most wonderful display of breakfast in bed the following morning. I felt so pampered each and every day we were at the resort, it was WONDERFUL.
The beach at Beaches Negril was amazing, always clean and very wide, especially compared to Beaches Sandy Bay and Sandals Negril just a short ways down the beach. There was always a pair of chairs to be found. We did not experience any issues with sand flies as i had read in other reviews and we spent quite a bit of time in the sand after dark. The stone fire pizzas next to the pool bar were one of our favorite lunches. We fell in love with 2 drinks for day time drinking, the island paradise and the hummingbird. Buffet was very very good, always a large selection of fresh items, one of my favorite items i ate almost daily was smoked salmon, yum. There were a lot of families and children but they never seemed to be a bother. One of our favorite places to gather with our friends after dinner was the Theater Bar which had pool tables and lots of seating.
We had a wonderful trip and would recommend this resort to anyone with or without children.
