Bachelorette night in ideas?

Hello ladies!

I would love some help coming up with something not lame to do for my bachelorette! My girlfriend who is planning it has asked me what I want to do. Well, it turns out, I HAVE NO IDEA! lol

Seriously though, I don't like bars, the only one I do like is the dueling piano bar and we're having them play at our reception so I'd like to do something different. I'm thinking a night in is the way to go, but how do we make that fun? I was thinking maybe Sex & the City themed, but that feels so 2002. But maybe still fun?

I have no idea. Thoughts?

Re: Bachelorette night in ideas?

  • On another note, I'm starting to feel like the Old Spice guy since I keep starting posts with "Hello Ladies"
  • You could do a girls weekend, maybe take an outta town trip somewhere touristy? Niagara fals, atlantic city? A friend of a friend recently went away for her bachelorette party to a cute little town that had lots of vineyards and they all went wine tasting. If you stay in, there's lot of fun games you could do. I can't really think of much else right now, we're most likely have a joint bachelor/bachelorette party and bar hopping in seattle after a big dinner at a restaurant over there.
  • Do you like wine? My bach party is a weekend in Newport and one of the things we are doing is going to a vineyard.

You could also go to dinner somewhere fun. My sisters bach party we went to a really fun mexican place in NYC. We also did a sailing cruise around NY hrbor that was fun and had apps and light cocktails. Maybe look into if there is a sailing sunset cruise thing in the Baltimore harbor.

Other ideas could be going to a sports game, like the orioles, or find one of the companies that set up scavenger hunts around cities. They sometimes even have bach themed hunts. You could also do a spa day, I was MOH for a friend who also wasn't a big bar person and we went to a spa all day and had massages and facials and hung out in the robes, and afterward we had dinner and a slumber party where we watched all wedding themed movies.

If you want more ideas let me know!
  • For my Bach party we are going away for the weekend. We're going to wildwood NJ Friday-Sunday. We are planning on pre gaming in the condo then go to clubs bar boardwalk etc. Oh n the beach of course. If you don't want to go out u can do something inside. Like for one of my friends she had lingerie night and we all had to wear one with shorts if we didn't feel comfortable and we just ate drank and played games all night long. It was really fun.

  • What about a comedy club?  or a concert?  Or maybe an outdoor music festival?

Really - anything you want could be made into a bachelorette party - the key is your girlfriends and you!  Mine was on saturday - here is the shirt I had to wear:

It says "final fling before the ring"  - one of my girlfriends designed it for me.  Laughing
  • All these ideas are really good! I think a nice little day or weekend trip would be a lot of fun! Or if you prefer to stay in, you could do what a few of my BMs did and threw a sex toy party..haha! I know I know, but just hear me out. It was actually SO much fun. They lady brought lotions, lingerie and all sorts of stuff. My friend made tons of food and drinks and once everyone had a few they were loosened up and we all were having a great time. It was super funny and almost everyone bought stuff. Trust me, it may seem awkward but everyone liked it.

You could also all go out for mani/pedis, do lunch and then get your hair and make up done together. There are plenty of things to do to make your Bach party great :)

I agree with the girls, go do something for it.  We're not 15 years old having a sleep over...we're getting married beezies!!!  A weekend away relaxing would be perfect!  Vineyard, spa, beach, whatever it is, it should be more special than just chilling at home...IMO!!!

So far what I've gathered from mine is that we're getting a villa at my AHR hotel and a party bus and there will be different stops for us that I don't know about.  Then we're going to chill by the pool the next day to recover and my little sister will come and hang out with us.
  • I guess one thing worth adding is that FI and I both work during the week and on weekends during the fall so we won't be able to do anything that's more than just a night.

Michaela-- everything you said sounds awesome! We're probably going to do something in Baltimore and stay downtown for the night... time to start looking into those kinds of things!
  • This is what we did for mine...

Morning we went and got pedicures, you can reserve most nail places if you tell them its for a party and how many girls. And if you buy a liquor permit you can have drinks too! (the permit is about $10)

Then we went back to my house, had a passion party, played lots of games and we found 2 of our guy friends to be bartenders all night.

    It was so much fun!

FI and I don't want bachelor/bachelorette parties and we have made this very clear to everyone we know. Instead, the day before the wedding FI is going to round up the troops and go jet skiing and other fun water-based shenanigans. My girls and I are going to have a full day of pampering and just basic fun in the sun followed by dinner and spending the night in my room, so that we can all be together to get ready for the wedding in the morning

  • We also do not want bachelor/bachelorette parties, so when we get to Maui we are just going to take all the younger folks and have a night out and call it out bachelor/ette party!

  • We're going to rent out a hotel suite overlooking the lake on fireworks night and have a good old fashioned sleepover party with room service and movies we loved as kids.

FI's bachelor party is going to be a poker partyat the place where he works his 2nd job (after hours, of course.)  Neither of us drink and considering I'm 35 and he's 41 and we've been sleep deprived parents for almost 4 years, neither of us has any desire to stay out all night getting drunk and looking at naked strangers.
  • How did I miss that someone already posted that? I think it's the lack of oxygen being in Denver.
