Cake Topper Help

I have no idea why I can not make a decision on my own to save my life, but I can't...LMAO  I 2nd guess almost everything.... and my cake topper colors are no exception!

I ordered my cake topper last week, I should be getting it soon.  It's just a letter "P" in a script font.  it's unfinished wood so I still need to paint it and bling it out...but I don't know what colors to do.

My first thought was to do it Fuschia to match my Fuschia/Mango color scheme...  but then I thought maybe I should do a mix of pinks and then I went to just doing it all crystal.  My mind is a mess ladies!

So Please help me decide:

1) Should I go with solid pink design?  Here are the two pinks I'm trying to decide between:

Fuschia:

Rose:

2) Do I do a combo of pinks?  It would look something like this:

3) Should I do all Crystal?  Like this:

These are my cake inspirations....Pretty much 2 layers with orchids on the side and ribbon around each layer.  The orchids will be in color and probably not as many as in the pics:

  • LOVE the fushia.  But here is my thought... I'm doing fushia/orange/green - bright colors just like you.  It can get overwhelming/too much really fast.  If you have a ton of brightness going on throughout the reception, I think the crystal cake topper is a great way to tone it down a bit so that the brightness doesn't become overkill.  BUT if you don't feel like you have too much color going on - go for the fuschia!

  • I agree with emily. I think it depends on the colors you are already doing at the reception. I do really like the crystal one.

  • I agree with everyone. I think that the all crystal one is the best because if you are going to have the colored orchids, you don't want the cake topper to clash with them.

  • I like the crystal idea also. If you would like some color maybe add a few throughout mixed in with the crystals. I'm not sure how that would look?

  • I personally am a fan of the solid pink, but which one would depend on the colour of the orchids so that you don't have any clashing :)
  • I'd do the crystal-- it will go with anything, no matter what.. AND you could even sell it later if you want to!

  • I aggree with the other ladies!  I think that it also really depends on your cake because if you go with something like the first inspiration with color then the silver cake topper would look the best.  If you went with a white cake with silver ribbon and white flowers then a solid pink cake topper could look really pretty too!  I think maybe going for the silver cake topper would be your best bet because it will look fabulous no matter what!

  • I'm thinking I will just go with the crystal color... as we all know no matter what inspiration pic I send to the coordinator, a lot gets lost in translation and this way if my cake is not exactly like my pic it will still look good with crystal.. right?  Also, since the shade of the orchids vary I would hate for the pinks to not match.

Thanks ladies for helping me see things a bit clearer.

  • You could do the crystal with the fuschia. I would do just one layer in the center of the P and then have crystals surrounding it....almost like you're making a P inside of your wooden P with the fuschia and then the crystals all around it. That way it picks up on the color of the orchids without overwhelming it either.  Hope that made sense....it makes perfect sense in my head!  Wink
