Any USVI brides?

My FI and I are now very seriously considering our current "regular" wedding plans and eloping to the VI.  We can't be bothered with my family's constant drama and just want to have the wedding and be happy.Anyone have advice as to where to go, what to do?  I've fully planned the US wedding (from Italy- no, we don't want to get married here) and starting over seems... Well, refreshing actually, but still.  Helps? :)

  • There have been several VI brides.  The latest one that comes to mind is Samantha (Samantha7806).  You can page her on the nest under North Dakota if you have specific questions for her.  Also, the destination wedding bio has lots of VI brides.  http://www.dwbridesbio.com/location.php#7
  • I'm getting married in St. Thomas in November. Feel free to ask any questions. You can email me at ginaherman6 at yahoo dot comGL and welcome to the board!
  • I'm getting married at the Wyndham Sugar Bay. I loved the rooftop terrace overlooking the ocean. We are anticipating about 30 guests, so it was the most cost effective in terms of reception price, and transportation (most of our guests will be staying at the resort). The Marriott is also similar in prices and has a beautiful set up as well. Samantha just got married there so you can page her for pics. They're stunning. Some places I looked into that might be great for just the two of you are St. Peter's Greathouse Mountaintop. It has a beautiful view of the city and ocean. It would have been my first choice, but it would involve a lot of transporting guests from the hotel, to there, then to a reception location. Any of the beaches would be nice for eloping - Perfect Weddings seemed to have the best prices as far as planners went. (Although they were all very close). If you are an animal lover, there is a place called Coral World that does weddings - you can actual get married with the giant sea turtles which is pretty cool and unique. I plan on doing the swimming with the sea turtles and sea lions when I get down there. HTH and feel free to ask any specific questions.  I can email you some prices from different planners and the Wyndham too.
